Abstract
Acandiopanax species(Araliaceae) traditionally has been used as analgesics, stimulant of immune system, and replenishment of body functions. Acanthopanax divaricatus var. albeo, fructus is a new variety and indigenous plant to Korea. The antioxidant ativities of leaf and root bark of A. divaricatus var. albeofructus were determined by 1,1-dipheny1-2- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) assay on human plasma low density lipoprotein(LDL) in vitro system. The extracts of leaf and root bark showed antioxidant activities and the leaf exhibited more potentially in CU2, induced LDL oxidation than root bark.
